Why Palladian Bodywork?

Why We Chose Palladian Bodywork: A Name That Reflects Our Mission

When Amber and I decided to rebrand, we didn't just want a new name—we wanted one that captured the essence of what we do. After months of consideration, Palladian Bodywork emerged as the clear choice. Here's the story behind it.

The Architecture of Support

The name draws inspiration from the Palladian column, an architectural element with roots stretching back to Renaissance Italy. Architect Andrea Palladio (1508–1580) popularized a distinctive design: a central arch flanked by two smaller rectangular openings. This structure became known as the Palladian motif and was adopted across Europe and America as a symbol of strength, balance, and enduring support.

What makes the Palladian column remarkable isn't just its aesthetic—it's its function. It was engineered to distribute weight evenly, to support massive structures above it, and to do so with grace and efficiency. The design has stood the test of time because it works.

We saw ourselves in that metaphor.

Our Work as Structural Support

Your body is a complex system of interconnected function — all working together to hold you up, move you through the world, and support your life. When tension builds, alignment shifts, or stress accumulates, that system can weaken. Our massage practice exists to restore that structural integrity.

We don't just work on muscles; we work with your body's natural support system. Through skilled touch, intentional pressure, and deep listening, we help release what's holding you back and reinforce what keeps you strong. Like a Palladian column, we're here to help you stand in your individual sovereignty.

A Cosmic Connection

There's another synchronicity in our name choice. In metaphysical teachings, Pleiadians—beings from the Pleiades star system — are known for their spiritual evolution and benevolent nature. They're thought to play a major role in guiding humanity through its collective awakening and ascension process. Pleiadians are seen as cosmic allies, offering wisdom, healing, and multidimensional support to Earth and its inhabitants.

The phonetic echo between "Pleiadian" and "Palladian" isn't lost on us. Both speak to a higher order of support — one architectural and grounded, one cosmic and expansive. Together, they represent our mission: to meet you where you are physically while supporting your broader journey toward wellness, alignment, and consciousness.

A Name That Means Something

Palladian Bodywork honors both the practical and the profound. It's a name rooted in architectural history and structural integrity, and it's also a name that reflects our belief in the power of conscious, intentional work.

We're not just "therapeutic massage" — a term so broad it's become generic. We're Palladian Bodywork: a practice dedicated to supporting your body's natural strength, restoring balance, and working with intention to help you feel your best.

Everything else about us stays the same — our location, our commitment to you, and the quality of care Amber and I bring to every session. But now, our name finally reflects who we are.

We re honored to welcome you into this next chapter.
